About Danny
DANNY PEYRONEL started making music as a pro while still a teen a million years ago, at the height of 'The Golden Age of Rock'.
He was a founder member of iconic London band the HEAVY METAL KIDS, who became THE reference for the incipient Punk movement and beyond, influencing bands from The Offspring to Hanoi Rocks and scores in between.
Moving on to legendary rockers UFO, he was their original keyboardist, writing songs for the heralded ‘No Heavy Petting’ album that changed the band’s direction for good.
He went on to write the multi-million selling hit 'Midnight at the Lost and Found' for MEAT LOAF, the biggest selling non-Steinman song in the saga, as well as hits for DAVID GILMOUR and even SADE.
Danny became a lead singer and frontman in the 80’s, with his band TARZEN, both their albums, ‘Taboo’ and ‘Madrid’ recently re-issued to great acclaim.
In the 90's, he worked with Desmond Child in Los Angeles and then spent five years as an operatic tenor.
Moving to Milan in 2000, he recorded his first solo album, 'Make the Monkey Dance' and revived the HMK for their critically acclaimed swansong 'Hit the Right Button'.
Forming X-UFO in the 10's with fellow UFO alumni Clive Edwards, Laurence Archer, and Rocky Newton, they released a live album, ‘Vol.1: The Live Files’, and a studio release as HOUSE of X.
Now settled in thriving Barcelona, Danny recorded his new album, 'It Happens When You Look the Other Way' (2025), with the help of his musical partner in crime, the multi-talented guitarist and producer David Pereira-Oleart, and featuring top local talent.
The title track is the first, catchy firestorm of a hardrock-pop single from the album, complete with a revolutionary luscious AI assisted video clip directed by David and loaded with message.
The second single is 'The Last Goodbye', a decidedly Motown influenced anthem, and the third is in a league of its own. The classic rock ballad 'Heaven’s in A Chevy Tonight' (another song he wrote for MEAT LOAF, but, sadly, 40 years late)I the third single. It features a stunning video romance directed by David, and it's getting thousands of views daily on YouTube.
Likely up-coming singles are the hard-rocker 'Down Down Down', the zeppelinesque 'Run Away Rashid', the anthem to Jimi that is 'Upside Down', the bluesy 'A Different Kind of Blue or even the New Orleans shuffle 'When the Devil’s In.
His childhood dream of re-making the James Bond classic "From Russia With Love" finally came to life on the record and its dramatic accompanying video.
Two books are on the verge of publication, the semi auto-biographical 'The Back Of The Tortoise', and 'Ten Pianos', which has already been translated into Spanish as 'Diez Pianos'.
Danny doesn’t do boundaries.
IT HAPPENS WHEN YOU LOOK THE OTHER WAY, the complete album, is already up on all platforms.
